Introducing our Citymothers Bloggers

Recently we asked for volunteers from Citymothers willing to blog for www.citymothers.co.uk and had a fantastic response. As a result we have put together a blogging group with 6 member bloggers and 2 from the Citymothers committee.

Blogs will be published on a rota every Tuesday (starting next week) on the website, as well as on Twitter and LinkedIn, and will cover a range of content including our bloggers’ own experiences of being a ‘Citymother’ as well as their views and opinions on relevant topical issues.

So to introduce our bloggers to you: Natalie is team manager at a law firm; she has been a lawyer for 10 years and is a mother to two girls aged 8 and 2. Ellen works for a well-known investment bank in the City. She has two children aged three and one, who divide their working week between nursery and grandma's house. Claire is an Associate Director at a large City-based Bank working 4 days a week in a busy transaction team in the Project Finance sector. She has two children under the age of 4 and relies heavily on nurseries and the aid of a good nanny. Anna is an employment lawyer and partner in a London firm.  Currently working four days a week, theoretically between the hours of 9 and 5 in the manner of Dolly Parton ‘but with less impressive hair and reduced scope for rhinestone’, in her own words. Keily is mum to daughter Eden, born January 2013, and is an associate in the London litigation department of a US-headquartered law firm. She works on a flexible full time basis. Jennifer is a Senior HR Manager currently working full time for an independent Asset Manager in the City; she commutes from Kent, and has a 2 year old son. Esther is on the Citymothers committee; after a quarter century journey progressing from associate lawyer to partner at a magic circle firm, she has grownup children and now occupies herself with a range of interests including freelance coaching/mentoring, music and not for profit initiatives. And then there’s me, Louisa – I keep myself busy with running the Citymothers Network, two children under 2, a husband and (from January when I go back to work after maternity leave) a full time job in finance.

Happy reading!
:)
