News from Cityparents HQ - January 2017
Now we’re firmly settled into the New Year, our plans for expanding our networks and events are well underway. Catch up on our latest news from Cityparents HQ and get a preview of what’s coming up this quarter.
We’ve got over 30 events already confirmed for 2017, with plenty to choose from whether you’re looking for a relevant Citycareers seminar to help with your career plans or seeking expert advice on parenting or wellbeing matters from a Cityparents seminar. Read more about new event topics and upcoming speakers here.
Our newest colleague…
It’s a big task organising all our events, so we’re delighted to introduce our new Cityparents Network Manager, Milly Sutton, who joined our team at the start of this year to take on this responsibility. Milly brings great expertise to the role and knows the City well, having previously managed all the London events for law firm White & Case. Milly talks to us here about how she combines her career and family, her plans for her new role and a surprising fact or two about herself….
…And our newest network
In our last newsletter we announced plans to launch two new initiatives – Cityworks Forum and Cityflex Jobs. We’re delighted to confirm that Cityworks Forum, our new City-wide network for HR and Diversity & Inclusion professionals, is now up and running. We are pleased to be welcoming new corporate members and looking forward to hosting our first event in just over a week’s time. Find out more here.
In the spring we’ll be launching Cityflex, our new jobs site for City professionals and employers. Cityflex will enable those with ‘City’ backgrounds and professional skills and experience to find flexible and/or part-time roles that fit around their personal/family commitments, and will provide ‘City’ businesses with a way to advertise flexible roles and reach a fantastic talent pool of potential resource. Cityflex will have its own website, and we’ll let you all know as soon as it’s open for business.
Another excuse to celebrate is coming up …. in April we’ll be celebrating the 3rd anniversary of our Cityfathers network. It seems like yesterday that we held our Cityfathers launch event with guest speaker Nick Clegg, then Deputy Prime Minister. We’re delighted that since then, over 1,500 Cityfathers members have signed up and we enjoy hearing of the successful networking circles that have been established as a result of Cityfathers members chatting to one another at our events. We have exciting plans for new Cityfathers events later in the year, and we’d love to feature some stories from Cityfathers members in our April newsletter. So if you’re up for sharing your own experiences – whether that’s about progressing your career, working flexibly, taking shared parental leave or what helps you manage your work/life balance successfully – then please do drop us a line.
If you want to get in touch generally with any other suggestions or questions, you can always post a question or catch the latest updates via our Facebook page, Twitter account and Linked In group. We look forward to talking with you online or at an event soon.
