Message I was poached to join a new team whilst pregnant, which was fine, as old mgr was very unsupportive of pregnancy made the move easier. New boss very supportive, although mat leave cover was only arranged in my last week! I made lots of effort whilst off to KIT with mat cover, mat buddy and mgr and actually went on a few training courses during leave. I took 6 months mat leave and had 1.5 weeks hol each side. Eight days before I was due back I was informed by mgr that my role had been restructured but others were interested in hiring me. But I actively had to seek out those other managers and let them know I was available. Not knowing what role I was coming back to made my last weeks off very stressful. I'm now back at work on a phased return. I was always planning on phasing back, but found out on my first day back in the office In Oct that this was offered at full pay, so I got 10 days leave back, on top of 5 bank hol days. Meaning I have 15 days to use by YE, despite having a week off already booked and Xmas off. Luckily new mgr very supportive and letting me carry over more than I should to next year. New mgr also very aware how I'm feeling (is a working mum) and being very supportive. Truth be told, I do feel like I have been pushed into a new role that I wouldn't have chosen, but at least I'm not up for R. I'm the main earner and my other half is taking 6m SPL. Had to jump through hoops to fill in SPL forms only to be told not necessary. He is now on SPL, and his firm have mucked up his pay and given him 0! Advice: read internal policy twice and know your entitlement!
